Hima Das is India’s fastest 400m female sprinter and also country’s first U-20 World Championships gold medallist. Known as the ‘Dhing Express’, the girl from Assam is a national-record holder with a timing of 50.79s she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. She won two gold medals and a silver medal at the same event. She was conferred with Arjuna Award by the President of India on September 25, 2018. The same year in November, UNICEF-India appointed Hima as the country’s first ever youth ambassador.
